PROLOGUE

Vaughn

FUNNY HOW LIFE plays practical jokes. The past few days—that had to be a fucking joke, right? There was no logical answer that would make sense to what I’d seen, heard, and lived the past seventy-two hours. My sister. My best-friend and twin. This was what she’d been living with? This was how she’d been treated? This was what she wanted to return to? Motherfucking why? Why would she ever want to return to this insanity? We’d been raised in a broken home, chained to an empire that absorbed us right from birth. But we were kept safe, warm, and loved. We grew up together. We shared everything. But now…I had no fucking clue who my sister was. But then she came to me. A woman I never knew existed. The most stunning creature I’d ever seen. Only she didn’t come to me on feet or wings of an angel. She rolled into my life and demanded my help. And for better or for worse. I helped her.

CHAPTER ONE
Nila

“LET ME GO!” Daniel cackled like a mad hyena, his fingers stabbing into my bicep. Without breaking his stride, he stole me further away from the parlour and into the bowels of the house. I didn’t want to go. I didn’t want to go anywhere with him. “Take me back!” I squirmed, doing my best to return to Jethro. He can’t be dead! Just because he lay unmoving and bloody didn’t mean he’d left me behind. That’s exactly what it means. I shook my head, dislodging those awful thoughts. He’s alive. He had to be. I couldn’t tolerate any other answer. I refused to live in a world where evil triumphed over good. That wasn’t right—life couldn’t be that cruel. It’s always been that way. My mind filled with images of my mother. My father’s desolation. My broken childhood. Evil had puppeteered us from day one. Why should now be any different? He’s not dead! I swallowed a sob. Please don’t be dead… I fought harder. “Let me see him. You can’t do this!” Daniel cackled louder. “Keep begging, Weaver. Won’t do you any good.”

Carter Reed 2 by Tijan

Carter bought his way out of the mafia to protect Emma, but when an old ghost returns to the Mauricio Family, a chain of events starts that can harm everyone. While Carter must decide to return to the Mauricio Family or not, a face that is oddly familiar to Emma comes into her life. She’s given the chance to discover more about her family while tension between the rivaling Mauricio and Bertal Family comes to a head in an explosive way. The truce is officially off, and when the two worlds collide, Carter’s decision is made.

He didn’t start this war, but he will end it.

He will do anything to protect Emma.

This will be a great read if you are trying to forget about the Indebt Series while the next two books are published LOL. The storyline was great, I stayed awake until three a.m. to finish it. It has wit, suspense, romance, passion and most of all DRAMA. Oh how I love drama.

It took the author to write this one two years after the first installment was published. I never imagined I'd see a sequel. You'll loooveee Carter and will fall for his charms hard and fast again. He is hot, a killing machine and better yet, the cold killer, formerly The Mauricio's secret weapon because he is "out of business". He only makes The Mauricio's and the Bertal family richer as a treaty to avoid retailiation against Emma. This guy has everything but unfortunately his happiness doesn't last long. Carter wants to protect at all costs his relationship with her but everything seems to change when one of the families breaks the treaty and she gets targeted. Everybody wants him back. They want him to lead, they want him to kill for them, they want to kill him too but above all, they want to destroy his happiness and they know that the only way to get the Cold Killer back in mafia business, is if they move out of the picture the one thing he holds dear...

Emma

"Sometimes I was a cold bastard, but I wasn't heartless, not unless I needed to be..."

This book made me laugh and I'm sure you won't be disappointed either.

Carter is torn between going back to his old ways to protect what he holds dear and going back to help his mafia brother Cole Mauricio who had been hiding for 5 years until the time was right to go back and lead the family business.

"You're smart. So am I. You plan. So do I. But while you wait to make sure the whole team will back you up, I'm already in there and doing it, no matter who's with me and who isn't."

I got annoyed several times by Emma. She just never understood her place... she was so stubborn but anyway those two belong to each other. And she was also selfish towards her friends. I think they loved her more than she did them even though she said everything she did was to protect them. Blah!

"He's going to be the other half, and eventually, it's going to be only him. You allegiance will be to him."

I really liked Cole up until the end.

I also would like to see another installment so the love story can be finally completed. Pretty Please?

Losing Hope (Hopeless #2) by Colleen Hoover

In the follow-up to Colleen Hoover’s #1 New York Times bestseller Hopeless, the charming and irresistible Dean Holder tells the passionate story that has melted thousands of hearts.

In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared, and no memory forgotten, but Holder’s past remained a mystery.

Still haunted by the little girl he let walk away, Holder has spent his entire life searching for her in an attempt to finally rid himself of the crushing guilt he has felt for years. But he could not have anticipated that the moment they reconnect, even greater remorse would overwhelm him…

Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward, we must first dig deep into our past and make amends. In Losing Hope, bestselling author Colleen Hoover reveals what was going on inside Holder’s head during all those hopeless moments—and whether he can gain the peace he desperately needs.

Review:

5 + Speechless stars!

THAT ENDING beat the one in the first book. That letter was heartbreaking but gave closure too.

We get to see Holder's POV in this one. You might think what is the point of reading the same story from other character's perspective, but I can assure you, you will not regret doing so. You get to see more of Daniel (Holder's friend) and his alliance with Breckin while he's having his Sky break. Holder writes letters to his sister in a notebook she left in her room. The letters he writes to her are so honest, amusing, and painful that I cried in almost all of them.

After his sister's incident, Holder has been having a very volatile personality and that scared the shit out of Sky.

"As much as I hate that I can't hit girls today, I hate the fact that I can't punch teachers even more." Yeap! That's Holder.

Holder finds in Sky similarities with his long lost friend Hope and he is in constant struggle with his emotions because he wants her to be Hope but at the same time he wants her to be only Sky. I loved how passionate he was about his family and friends and how he loved his relatives unconditionally.

We get to see his past and more about him and Hope when they were kids as well as his sister story. He can't let go of that guilty feeling that what happened to his sister was all his fault so he copes trying to protect Sky.

I Lived this book! Yeah! I wrote Lived so what?! Read it so you know what I'm talking about. It was perfection. The perfect closure at its finest. Yeah! no spoiler other than the fav quotes/moments below. Please read it. Even when we get the much of the same story from the first book, which is the same story duh! It's completely different from Holder's perspective.

The teasing and banter never stops! I Live it.!

And between all the emotional commotion he was able to find peace and Hope.

My words will never give this book justice...

***Spoiler Alert ***

"My attention is constantly homed in on her like I'm a compass and she's my North."

"You want some water or do you want to continue pretending you can stomach that vegan shit?"

"You probably faked passing out the other day, just so you could be carried in my hot, sweaty, manly arms."

"You're way hotter when you aren't speaking."

"She's flat out rude to me and I love it."

"Your logic terrifies me," she says. "I sort of don't find you attractive anymore."
Challenge Accepted

"It's okay mom," I hear Breckin say as he opens the door further. "He's not here for my gay parts."

"So I kept my arms wrapped around her and I said, 'I hate everybody too, Cinderella.' We were still in..."
"Wait, wait, wait," Breckin says, interrupting the story. "You called her Cinderella? What the hell for?"
Daniel shrugs. "We were in a janitor's closet. I didn't know her name and there were all this mops and brooms and shit and it reminded me of Cinderella, okay? Give me a break."

Hopeless (Hopeless #1) by Colleen Hoover

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

Review:

5 + Heart Shattering, Breathtaking stars!!!!!

This damn book was AMAZING! The Edge of Never kind but twisted and fucked up.

There was so much sexual tension between the two characters up to half of the book or so. I understood  why so much platonic treatment andby the end the meaning of her emotional detachment (poor sky, it sucked) but still it is one of the best books/series I have ever read. And it was hilarious, sad, and embarrassing as well.

This book deserves my "book boyfriend, favorite-books, favorite-series, to-read-again, twisted, and twisted-as-fuck" bookshelves. It is so wrong and so good at the same time *sigh*

This book made me laugh and cry so, so much... I wasn't expecting so much tears. Unfortunately I love reading and the plot was so very addictive.

Holder always had a way to make Sky feel uncomfortable in a good/bad way. The bickering and banter between them was just too funny. This is one of few stories that I think I know what is happening but three chapters later the book takes a left turn instead of right and so on.

You will judge the integrity, morale and state of mind of some characters and even when they did wrong or broke the law you feel sympathy for them. This an emotional gray story because nothing is black or white.

You won't understand Holders behavior until the end... and then to fully understand what he went through you'll have to read "Losing Hope" Because yeah! that book tells the same story but with Holder's POV and then some other secrets are revealed there.

Why I waited so long to read this Series? God just knows... This story makes you appreciate what you have given in life, good and bad.

***Spoiler Alert***

Fav Quotes/Moments:

"Tell your daddy's I said thank you."

"In all seriousness, Sky. I noticed you in class today and it's obvious you're new here, too. And after seeing the stripper money fall out of your locker before fourth period, then witnessing your non-reaction to it, I knew we were meant to be. Also, I figured if we teamed up, we might prevent at least two unnecessary teenage suicides this year. So, what do you say? Want to be my very bestest friend ever in the whole wide world?"

"He flashes me his dimple-laden grin and faint. No... Literally. I fainted. And based on the ache in my shoulder and the dirt and gravel embedded in my cheek, it wasn't a beautiful, graceful fall."

"Your cookies suck ass. And you're really not that pretty."

"There's nothing like the guilt you feel when there's room in your heart to love evil."

And... That fucking ending... I got chills and tears and EVERYTHING!!!! I read it over and over again. It was just so sad and beautiful together.

"And once again in my new world full of heartache and lies, this hopeless boy somehow finds a way to make me smile."

Review:

TEARS OF FUCKING TESS!!!!! AGR!!!!!

I just found my newest book boyfriend. And he might be at the top of them all. I'm in love with Q.

58 Stockholmy perfect stars! I couldn't stay away from this book enough time to make updates about my reading trip.

What can I say about this story...I heard it was awesome and had it on hold since last month because honestly I was waiting for the sequels of other series and I didn't believe it was THAT good and I've seen a lot of reviews both good and bad. Speaking of bad I read people are saying this book is not captive in the dark dark. WTF! of course is not captive in the dark. That is why the book is called Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters not Captive in the dark by C.J. Roberts. Two different writers, two different stories. It doesn't mean that because is not CITD dark it's not dark in it's own unique way. It can't be even compared to Consequences. So please people do not compare these stories. I am a fan of CITD and love Caleb. I am a fan of Consequences and I love Tony. I am now "Captive" for Tears of Tess story and Q is the bomb. Anyway, my goodreads bestie Soenid said: Fernanda you have to read this book and she was so eager for me to read it that she send it as a gift through Amazon and so I started...

I couldn't stomach the first 15% of the book. I wanted to close it and never look back. Everything that was happening to Tess was horrible and very clinical and I know what the writer portrayed there doesn't come close to what really happens when a woman is abducted and sold for sexual slavery. I felt Tess's angst for the situation she was in and how guilty she felt about what was happening thinking it was her fault. Also the people that kidnapped her treated her like crab including beating her for not obeying ( Yeiiii Tess! Thank you for never giving up). On top of that I went for vacations last month to that specific place where she went with her boyfriend and thank God I didn't read it before leaving otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get out of the hotel room bhahaha. Focus Fernanda!

TOT is written from her POV. She is a strong aussie girl and she is in opposite sides with her boyfriend. Being an unwanted child and not being close to her family makes her clingy and try to please him even when she wants to try "different" things in bed that he doesn't. She doesn't want to be alone and she is his emotional support system since his parents died. But he is so B-O-R-I-N-G.

After all the shit that she has to endure with her kidnappers she is sold. And then Oh My!!!!!!

Master Q comes into the picture. She is given to him through circumstances he is not going to discuss with her. I haven't been able to fin the perfect Q picture that can make him justice.

"Stop. If she doesn't want to bow, then don't force her."
... "She may crawl if she wishes," he murmured.

From the moment they met she refuses to acknowledge him as her master, and as her owner and embraces her Devil-may-care attitude.

"I have no master, let me go".

This of course gives Q the hots for sassy Esclave . Because stubbornness is this woman best friend and she refuses to give him the last of her possessions...

"...seeing as you refuse to tell me your name, you'll be called escalve until you do. If you are going to learn French, let that be your first word."

There's something mysterious about Q. He seems compassionate but dominant and sadistic at the same time. Hope it makes sense. Sometimes I wanted to love the guy, others kill him, fuck him, kiss him, punch him in the guy, love him again. You know the drill. These two are fucked up with capital F. Q is a controlling, domineering, alpha sexy H-O-T male. He wants her to submit to him. He has been fighting his urge all his life but it is so difficult not to get off with this woman's sassy mouth. He is a monster and Tess doesn't know that with her attitude she has trapped herself in the monsters den.

"... He may be able to molest me, but he wouldn't stay whole while he did."

Even with his possessive sadistic ways you will love him. I know I did. There's just something about him. Under the I-don-give-a-fuck-i-am-your-master persona he seems to be a good man. That is why this story is a complete roller-coaster. You get him, you don't, you love him, then you don't, you want to fuck him, then don't (That's a lie, you ALWAYS want to fuck him). That just sums Tess's feelings.

"Two things I wanted the most in the world: for Q to die a miserable death, and for him to fuck me."

OH My God! and the sex scenes!

WTF! So fucking H-O-T! Seriously! Be ready to open a window when you read it because you won't be able to see your book from all the steam Ugh!!!

"I am Ami, Esclave"

Between those two I don't know who's more fucked up. Both have dark desires and not want to cave in them. So by the end you'll see a different side of well just read it! I guarantee you won't be disappointed. He has a beautiful heat beneath all the shit he has done.

"Nous sommes les uns des autres"

I can't wait for Quintessentially Q!!!!!

A Line Drawn (The Finest Line #3) by Catherine Taylor

What began in the The Finest Line and escalated in A Line Crossed, is now concluded in A Line Drawn.

As Mairead looks to her future with James, their wedding on the horizon, she is plagued with the demons of her past. One of them seems to have invaded her life, but Mairead is uncertain whether she is the victim of a tortured mind, or the prey of an evil man. Separating reality from a nightmare is difficult, but Mairead is certain that she is not alone in uninvited attention.
Someone has an unhealthy interest in James, which is only increasing her troubles. Knowing that her willful nature often leads to trouble, Mairead tries to find peace in obedience, but submitting to such a dominant man has its own painful problems.
As their happiness is threatened, Mairead must decide whether submission is the answer, or is it time for a little defiance?

******************************************************************

Maried was the perfect example of "The boy who cried wolf". She had done so many shenanigans and antics that nobody believed in her. James was trying so hard to protect her that he began to believe in other people rather in his girl. I felt like his domineering was way over the top sometimes, but I still love him ;). That being said Adele was a total bitch! I know James loves Mairead forever and ever but there were times where I honestly thought that all the bullshit he said about he being "proud" of her and not liking Adele was a lie. He said sweet things to Mairead but did others that didn't look good from the outside. Fortunately for Mairead while being a pain in the arse to Dylan he was the only one who believed her besides her best friend. Justine was a bi2#&"&ch too and I really hated her but at the end you kind of justify her and see nothing is what it seems.

I really loved the plot and again Catherine doesn't disappoint it had the perfect amount of sex, romance, DRAMA, mystery and a lot of suspense. I am glad I found this series. I read the first book 3 times ;)

I would love to see a book of Dylan... mmmm... yumi.!

A Line Crossed (The Finest Line #2) by Catherine Taylor

After the dramatic prelude to their relationship, Mairead is happy to let James take the helm of their lives, even if his authority can be somewhat painful. Her unusual desires are finally free to be explored, under his administration, but accepting them in a politically correct world is not so easy.

While James meets all her needs in every exciting way, Mairead questions her capacity to be the woman he adores. Their new life together has brought unexpected challenges with James taking ownership of his nightclub Silver Dreams. Having caused enough disruption in his life, Mairead wants nothing more than to be his loving support, but trouble is never far away.

A shadow is looming with the approaching trial of a sadistic murderer against whom she must testify. When a dancer goes missing from the club, Mairead soon learns that she is not the only one with a troubled past and that others have darker secrets than hers.

While doing a little harmless investigation, Mairead suddenly finds herself the subject of interest, and realizes that she has brought more trouble for James. Once again she must make decisions that could lead to devastating consequences and destroy the happiness she fought so hard to find.

Review:

5 Stars...

As always I enjoyed Catherine Taylor´s book. I love how Mairead is so sassy and how she gets in trouble every time she tries to make something good. I was mad at her half of the time because of her foolishness. She over think too much and as she said in the story she´ll end up making a bad decision. She didn´t communicate with James which a totally justify. He loves her of course but every idea she has is always smashed by his negative because "she doesn't know how to behave and she always gets in trouble" and bla bla bla. I admire the strength of Mairead. She sacrificed everything she had to have the people she loves safe.

James H-O-T as always. I love him so much. A little over the top dominant but still love him. He cares too much for her but I think he was really naive with all the Adele shit. That bitch deserved a bitch slap and so much more. She tried so hard to influence James into seeing Mairead from her perspective and she almost succeeded but his love for "the spoiled little brat" is bigger than any tares. Even when he doesn´t want to admit she was right he was wrong.

The story was good. I honestly liked Mark big time at the end of The Finest Line. I thought he´ll be a good man from that day forward but I was so wrong and very very disappointed. The plot left me glued to every sentence in the book. It had the right amount of suspense, action, romance, intrigue, lust, sex, schemes and much more that it should get to the big screen.

Thank you Catherine Taylor. I thought you weren´t going to continue Mairead and James adventures and I am glad you did. I found your work in Amazon for free at the end of last year.

I´ll start A Line Drawn right away. Yeah.!

James Vaughn has been her chauffeur and body guard for five years and the only person who has been able to subdue her. An ex soldier of the British Army, James is composed and disciplined, unlike his boss’s daughter who seeks constant excitement which sometimes can prove dangerous.

Forced together until he can get her home, the barriers of their relationship begin to break down. Mairead fears her attraction to him stems from the strange desires that she has fought to suppress.

As their relationship blooms, her happiness is short lived with the arrival of another man who knows a terrible secret about Mairead. Now she must choose between two men, one whom she loves and the other who can destroy her life.

Contains explicit sex scenes, graphic language and elements of BDSM

*********************************************

Mairead is the daughter of a politician and a New Zealand gymnast . She is introduced at the beginning as a spoiled, junkie over indulged brat since the beginning of the book. She always gets in trouble and has a "Devil may care" attitude.

She is partying at a hotel with her friend Josh, and loses consciousness and when she wakes up she realizes she has gotten in a big trouble because her friend died ... What?! Yeap he did by falling from the balcony of hotel room they were the night before. She becomes somewhat a "suspect". She gets blackmailed and the chaos begins.

Who comes to her rescue?! James Vaughn. Since she was a teenager, her father hired an ex Army, HOT as hell guy to be her chauffeur/bodyguard. Although Mairead doesn't respect authority, he´s been the one and only capable of controlling her.

"What are you doing James?"

There was only silence but when he spoke his voice was eerily calm.

"If I hear one more disgusting word come out of your mouth, I will take you over my knee, take your pants down and spank your bare bottom to the colour of a ripe cherry."

Throughout the story she realizes that the party where Josh died was being held by Mark Lewis a man from whom she indulged in  drugs and she was also video taped auctioning her virginity to him *SIGH*.  Her rebellious behavior pushes James to discipline her and fulfill his promise of getting her bottom like a ripe cherry in a very humiliating way and she finds herself being sexually aroused by this act. He of course, sends her to sleep giving her no opportunity of release LOL (That bastard knew what he was doing to her).

She has been having a crush for James since she was a teenager even when she doesn't admit it. But after her  bare ass spanking she starts showing her hidden feelings for him.

What will happen to these two. To whom is she going to give her virginity?

This book is a must read.!!! I got it from Amazon.. I wasn't convinced because as you know most of the freebies are horrible ... well not all of them apparently. This one has everything romance, sex, love/hate relationships,  action, blackmail etc...I didn't expect this book would be so good and I have read it twice....Wowwwwww Mairead and James relationship was so cute..They are perfect for each other.. I fell in love with him instantly. I couldn't  put it down... Pfff what else is there to say..?? This one is a keeper...I´m looking forward to read more of Catherine Talylor´s books in the future. Fortunately she wrote a trilogy. I  read this book since Nov 2012.

Enjoy!
