PROLOGUE

Vaughn

FUNNY HOW LIFE plays practical jokes. The past few days—that had to be a fucking joke, right? There was no logical answer that would make sense to what I’d seen, heard, and lived the past seventy-two hours. My sister. My best-friend and twin. This was what she’d been living with? This was how she’d been treated? This was what she wanted to return to? Motherfucking why? Why would she ever want to return to this insanity? We’d been raised in a broken home, chained to an empire that absorbed us right from birth. But we were kept safe, warm, and loved. We grew up together. We shared everything. But now…I had no fucking clue who my sister was. But then she came to me. A woman I never knew existed. The most stunning creature I’d ever seen. Only she didn’t come to me on feet or wings of an angel. She rolled into my life and demanded my help. And for better or for worse. I helped her.

CHAPTER ONE
Nila

“LET ME GO!” Daniel cackled like a mad hyena, his fingers stabbing into my bicep. Without breaking his stride, he stole me further away from the parlour and into the bowels of the house. I didn’t want to go. I didn’t want to go anywhere with him. “Take me back!” I squirmed, doing my best to return to Jethro. He can’t be dead! Just because he lay unmoving and bloody didn’t mean he’d left me behind. That’s exactly what it means. I shook my head, dislodging those awful thoughts. He’s alive. He had to be. I couldn’t tolerate any other answer. I refused to live in a world where evil triumphed over good. That wasn’t right—life couldn’t be that cruel. It’s always been that way. My mind filled with images of my mother. My father’s desolation. My broken childhood. Evil had puppeteered us from day one. Why should now be any different? He’s not dead! I swallowed a sob. Please don’t be dead… I fought harder. “Let me see him. You can’t do this!” Daniel cackled louder. “Keep begging, Weaver. Won’t do you any good.”

A Line Drawn (The Finest Line #3) by Catherine Taylor

What began in the The Finest Line and escalated in A Line Crossed, is now concluded in A Line Drawn.

As Mairead looks to her future with James, their wedding on the horizon, she is plagued with the demons of her past. One of them seems to have invaded her life, but Mairead is uncertain whether she is the victim of a tortured mind, or the prey of an evil man. Separating reality from a nightmare is difficult, but Mairead is certain that she is not alone in uninvited attention.
Someone has an unhealthy interest in James, which is only increasing her troubles. Knowing that her willful nature often leads to trouble, Mairead tries to find peace in obedience, but submitting to such a dominant man has its own painful problems.
As their happiness is threatened, Mairead must decide whether submission is the answer, or is it time for a little defiance?

******************************************************************

Maried was the perfect example of "The boy who cried wolf". She had done so many shenanigans and antics that nobody believed in her. James was trying so hard to protect her that he began to believe in other people rather in his girl. I felt like his domineering was way over the top sometimes, but I still love him ;). That being said Adele was a total bitch! I know James loves Mairead forever and ever but there were times where I honestly thought that all the bullshit he said about he being "proud" of her and not liking Adele was a lie. He said sweet things to Mairead but did others that didn't look good from the outside. Fortunately for Mairead while being a pain in the arse to Dylan he was the only one who believed her besides her best friend. Justine was a bi2#&"&ch too and I really hated her but at the end you kind of justify her and see nothing is what it seems.

I really loved the plot and again Catherine doesn't disappoint it had the perfect amount of sex, romance, DRAMA, mystery and a lot of suspense. I am glad I found this series. I read the first book 3 times ;)

I would love to see a book of Dylan... mmmm... yumi.!

A Line Crossed (The Finest Line #2) by Catherine Taylor

After the dramatic prelude to their relationship, Mairead is happy to let James take the helm of their lives, even if his authority can be somewhat painful. Her unusual desires are finally free to be explored, under his administration, but accepting them in a politically correct world is not so easy.

While James meets all her needs in every exciting way, Mairead questions her capacity to be the woman he adores. Their new life together has brought unexpected challenges with James taking ownership of his nightclub Silver Dreams. Having caused enough disruption in his life, Mairead wants nothing more than to be his loving support, but trouble is never far away.

A shadow is looming with the approaching trial of a sadistic murderer against whom she must testify. When a dancer goes missing from the club, Mairead soon learns that she is not the only one with a troubled past and that others have darker secrets than hers.

While doing a little harmless investigation, Mairead suddenly finds herself the subject of interest, and realizes that she has brought more trouble for James. Once again she must make decisions that could lead to devastating consequences and destroy the happiness she fought so hard to find.

Review:

5 Stars...

As always I enjoyed Catherine Taylor´s book. I love how Mairead is so sassy and how she gets in trouble every time she tries to make something good. I was mad at her half of the time because of her foolishness. She over think too much and as she said in the story she´ll end up making a bad decision. She didn´t communicate with James which a totally justify. He loves her of course but every idea she has is always smashed by his negative because "she doesn't know how to behave and she always gets in trouble" and bla bla bla. I admire the strength of Mairead. She sacrificed everything she had to have the people she loves safe.

James H-O-T as always. I love him so much. A little over the top dominant but still love him. He cares too much for her but I think he was really naive with all the Adele shit. That bitch deserved a bitch slap and so much more. She tried so hard to influence James into seeing Mairead from her perspective and she almost succeeded but his love for "the spoiled little brat" is bigger than any tares. Even when he doesn´t want to admit she was right he was wrong.

The story was good. I honestly liked Mark big time at the end of The Finest Line. I thought he´ll be a good man from that day forward but I was so wrong and very very disappointed. The plot left me glued to every sentence in the book. It had the right amount of suspense, action, romance, intrigue, lust, sex, schemes and much more that it should get to the big screen.

Thank you Catherine Taylor. I thought you weren´t going to continue Mairead and James adventures and I am glad you did. I found your work in Amazon for free at the end of last year.

I´ll start A Line Drawn right away. Yeah.!

Epilogue (The Dark Duet #3) by C.J. Roberts

BOOK 3 OF THE DARK DUET

(The final version should have 15 Chapters + an epilogue)

I’m writing this because you begged. You know how I love the begging. In fact, you probably know too many things and know them far too well.

Who am I?

Well, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I was a whore in my youth, a killer since my adolescence, and a monster as a man. I am the man who kidnapped Livvie. I am the man who held her in a dark room for weeks. But, most importantly, I am the man she loves.

She loves me. It’s quite sick, isn’t it?

Of course, there’s more to our story than can be surmised in a few short sentences, but I’m at a loss for justifying my behavior back then. I assume if you’re reading this, I don’t need to make those justifications. You’ve already made your own.

You’re reading this because you want to know about the rest of the story. You want to know what happened that warm summer night in September of 2010, the night I met Livvie at The Paseo. It was the night my life changed all over again.

It didn't happen exactly as Livvie said. She’s been very kind to me in the retelling of our story. The truth is far more…complicated.

***********************************************************

My master of half-truths is so arrogant.!!

"Of course, there’s more to our story than can be surmised in a few short sentences, but I’m at a loss for justifying my behavior back then. I assume if you’re reading this, I don’t need to make those justifications. You’ve already made your own." - Caleb

5+ Mother fucking stars.!! This was the perfect closure..

I read several reviews in which people say that the story ended in SITD and there was no need for a third book. I TOTALLY disagree. A man like Caleb can´t change his ways from one day to another. That change takes an incredible amount of time and patience. I think we (lovers of The Dark Duet Series) needed this closure for our piece of mind. After I read CITD and SITD my brain was wasted. Yes.!! I even closed SITD and start bawling like a 5 year old when Livvie spoke for the first time with Agent Reed (I hope you remember which part I´m talking about).

In this book we see Caleb as the self assured, arrogant, master of half-truths motherfucker he´s always been but still with a keen interest for Livvie. He loves her and knows that the right thing to do is let her live her life without him but he´s too selfish to let her go.

After Livvie was left in the Mexico/US Border and spoke to the FBI, went into witness protection and changed her name and her place of residence she couldn´t put herself together. She just wasn´t ready to give him up and forget about him and by the end of SITD she had fallen for him big time. She protected him when she was questioned about him, go figure. They are made for each other. They are two of a kind. We new already they ended up together. They had a so much ups and downs in this book but fortunately they could figure everything out.

There is really no ending to their story. They are in love, the story ended after they were able to sort everything out or at least some. They´ll keep having adventures. I´m pretty sure about that and we also know what he did, who he was before falling for Livvie and we know they´ll keep running to keep Caleb safe from getting caught my the INTERPOL, FBI, CIA or whoever wants him caught. He lives one day at a time. He misses his old life. It´s easy but he wants to be a better man for her. *Sigh*

Insufferable Proximity 2 by Z.Stefani

After surviving a night of hell with the saboteur, Julian and Heaven attempt to get back to a normal life.

Review:

Oh My God.!!!!

“I´m going to make you suck my cock for
hours after I fuck you for days.”

“I´m going to be so deep inside you that you won´t
know where you end, and I begin”

WHAT?!!!!

After Gavin´s arrest we all thought that would be the end and HEA but no...

"Do something now! You dont understand,
I need her; You fix her now!" - Julian King

I really thought the first book would be the one but this one exceeded my expectations. It had everything from love, lust, romance, jealousy, drama, misunderstandings, schemes EVERY-FUCKING-THING.!!

New characters come into play too…that are after Heaven´s and Julian´s bones … Oh Yeah.!!!

"The thought of another man looking at you makes me physically
ill - not to mention homicidal".

Can´t wait to read what else Z has in store for us.

I FUCKING LOVED IT.!!

This story continues where Insufferable Proximity left off and were Julian and Heaven fall in love after years of hating each other. Please read first book before or you´ll understand shit about this one.

Don´t fret my friends, this book ends with a wonderful HEA and no cliffhangers. It ends with everyone so happy about their lives after all they have endured at the hands of Gavin and other people involved to pull them apart since the first book.

The sex was incredible. Super H-OOOO-TTTT.!! Believe me when I say I might have wet my panties while sitting in my desk at work reading this shit HA.! I loved it.!! I loved how Julian was so concerned of having Heaven safe and it just melted my heart. He went all Alpha male on her. Possessive, aggressive, jealous and all. Since book one I could sense the good chemistry they had and it never wavered. The madder and jealous he got the hotter the sex.

"His mind was consumed with sex and Heaven. Where he was once
addicted to sex - now he was addicted to Heaven.
He was man enough to admit it."

He always wants to be the one with the control over everything and I was exasperated at the beginning but what can I say.. I love my Julian. I really enjoyed watching them grow and change throughout these books. Although I didn’t like seeing Heaven so soft. There were times that she should have given her peace of mind to someone and instead she kept getting in trouble after trouble with the King of Kink.!! Those moments made me want to bitch slap her. There´s obviously no cheating in the book. They have a very raw, carnal relationship full of passion in and out of the bedroom (Their office) which blinds Julian most of the time when he is not worrying about his girl.

Their love and trust was so unswerving that not even gossip could tear them apart and I mean GOSSIP. Heaven put herself in situations sometimes unknown by her that whoever caught her in the move would think she was on to cheating and not being framed.

"If you ever talk about Julian like that again, will
personally crucify your ass,
Do you understand?"

Heaven and Julian fight continuously to be together despite the turmoil that comes towards them. They talk a lot, well they actually fight a lot at the beginning. He talks to Heaven about having her safe and how he doesn´t have time to be with her until he is sure the mansion is secure making her feel helpless and needy. Yes.!! Needy :(

Since the first book I loved that even when he has the world at his feet and can have any women he likes, his love is true to Heaven even when he knows her mom is a Madame at a brothel he used to frequent LOL and she stayed true to Julian after knowing he fucked almost half of the staff at the law firm and girls from her moms brothel. They are simply shameless.

Heaven is so strong although she has to lean in Julian´s shoulder for her safety and Julian goes so soft when it comes to Heaven because she is his all. They simply love each other to death.

“You´re married, don’t forget that. There might not be signed
documentation, yet, but you are legally
bound to me until the day of my death”.

Ohh the steamy sex.!!! How could I forget that No spoilers! Sorry :S You´ll have to read those parts.

The ending left me at peace. Everything was where it should be and we even had an extra Epilogue, one year later and 3 years later, so imagine how good it is.

There were a lot of POV´s Julian and Heaven, Ayden, Ian, the Kings´mother, Sybille´s among others. The banter and bickering between the secretaries was hilarious and how they gossiped and oh´d and aw´d with everything that was going on around them specially when they went all detective mode inside the firm Bah.!!

I´m really glad these series ended as a duet instead of a trilogy. I don´t think my heart could take 6 more months to wait for a third installment. Thank God I read this book in December and not in February when it was originally published.

There were characters I grew fond off even thought they had little to do with the story and makes me wonder… **Spoiler** Are we going to see future books about Royce, Julius, Ian and Gloria, Aries, Ronnie and Juliette as well?

I don´t have a cast for Heaven and Julian unfortunately because they are so perfect but…

Whoever reads this book will know what I mean with this LOL or at least this is how I picture it.

Insufferable Proximity by Z. Stefani

Someone is hell-bent on sabotaging Julian King.

Julian is a hot-shot lawyer and a natural born womanizer with an unnatural addiction to the opposite sex. He also happens to be the boss's son, which makes him a natural target. With a Rolodex filled with scorned women, a brother who loathes him and the competitors he defeated on his way to the top; there were plenty of people that would love to see him burn. But his money was on the person he despised most, his enemy Heaven Deville.

Heaven is an aggressive, ambitious, destructively-driven lawyer who HATES Julian King. The two stubborn lawyers were currently locked in a brutal battle for the coveted partnership position at the firm; and Heaven would do ANYTHING to prevent her arch rival from winning.

When Heaven goes too far Julian gives her two options- either he turns her in OR she has to willingly sign herself over to him for the next 30 days.

WARNING- CONTAINS STRONG SEXUAL CONTENT!

Review:

****THIS REVIEW MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS****

Soooo.. although I saw a couple of similarities from FSG or This man I really enjoyed it... What?!! nooo.... I LOVE IT.!!! Especially the fighting/banter/fighting/smart ass talk they kept until the end. This woman is a true heroine..

Where should I start... Well by describing Julian as a total womanizer/ass ho/pain in the Aaaa/Man hooooooo!!! but so fuc"#&//!"%&ng H-O-T!!!!!!!!

Julian King is a shiny top lawyer and happens to be the boss´s son, but he´s been away from the firm for almost a year while working in a case trial trying to prove his clients innocence. When he gets back his father makes a party in celebration of his younger child success in the case he just won, but also is celebrating that he hired a new attorney. When Julian meets Heaven he is impressed on how young and beautiful the woman is as well as the reputation she has (for winning all the cases she takes, because of how highly his father speaks of her). He can see her beauty behind the woman´s horrible attire and assumes she dresses like that to get respect for her talent instead of her looks and tries to seduce her right from the beginning but she cuts him off and leaves.

"Then he watched in total fascination
as she regained her composure".

"Prude". Angered by her words.
"Whore". She spat out before turning around and walk away.

Heaven Deville living in a brothel since birth and after having several shocking experiences along the years while living there, she grew up hating men and didn´t want to have anything to do with them. She went to college, studied to be a lawyer and went to work for an internship position at the best firm "The King law firm" on the east coast(Chan chan chan!!!!). When she finally meets Julian she is taken aback by his behavior in having such liberty to just take her hand and kiss it so intimately as she is well aware about all the gossip people spread of him in the office. They have a face to face altercation at the party where they were introduced by his father....and since then hell broke loose.

***Spoiler Alert****

That being said, Heaven and Julian were very much alike, always seeking the same cases and going to each other throats to get what they wanted even making their co-workers and father/boss uncomfortable for the fights they got with each other in order to get the newest case. When a partnership position is available in he firm Ian King, Julian´s brother tells Heaven that his brothers proposition for the partnership was really good and he was ahead of her and was more likely he will succeed on winning over her. Heaven feels for the first time fear that this man will succeed to be partner instead of her just for being the boss´s son or for being really good at his work. She VERY CLEVERLY decides to sneak into his office after work hours to steal his proposition and damage his computer, so she get in his office, runs a killer virus into his machine and steals his paperwork.

What happens the next morning???!!!!!

He sends his secretary to go tell Heaven he needs to speak to her immediately and to go to his office and when she arrives he .......

I AM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU HOW HE FINDS OUT...WHICH IS THE REASON SHE SIGNS FOR 30 DAYS TO BE WITH HIM AT HIS DISPOSAL.

"I want you- every inch of you. I want you naked and on your knees before me, I want to stick my tongue in every orifice on your body, and I want to fuck you until you're begging me to stop."  WHAAAA?!!! NOW THAT´S A LINE......

This book was very scorching and steamy with lots of sex, some BDSM, possessiveness and too much love even when the main characters had it in front of them and weren´t aware it was there. I also felt uneasy by the way he treated her. I mean one thing is serving a sentence but he went beyond that and was messing around with her at work, not allowing her to do her job properly. People wasn´t supposed to know about them and what does he do?!!! He buys her sexy clothes to wear at work, they stop fighting in the office, he is constantly summoning her to his office, to take her bra, or panties, or touch her or whatever and because of his stupidness because that´s the only word it comes to my mind for him acting like that when he was told to stop messing around with girls at his father building, all the REAL issues start. I mean what is wrong with him, if he ratted her with his father and the police she would lose her job and probably go to jail and at the same time he kept putting her in compromising situations at work with the possibility of being exposed to her co-workers and that way she could lose her job too...

I really enjoyed the pace this book had but not the ending because everything went too fast and I really feel like it deserved a whole chapter.

I have so much more quotes I would like to share but... YOU WILL HAVE TO KEEP READING MY FRIENDS as I can only tell you one thing.. that was one of the most hilarious stories I have ever read or heard of :S. I mean the situation she puts herself into hahaha clever girl not so clever while trying to backstab his Nemesis. Even under the storm she remained shameless and brazen while admitting her fault (good girl.!). I laughed so hard and got so mad while reading this book. I just couldn´t stop reading. I kind of have love/hate/lust/love feelings for Julian.

"My Princess".
